2007 Alumni Association Scholarship


Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the Mountlake Terrace Alumni Scholarship Fund. With your donations, the Association was able to give out $2,000.00 in scholarships this year. The scholarships were granted to three 2007 Terrace graduates who are children or grandchildren of a Terrace alumni. The scholarship was awarded on the basis of merit and community service.

2008 Alumni Scholarship

Amount: $To Be Determined

Criteria:
• Parent or Grandparent must be Mountlake Terrace High School graduate alumni
• Applicant must be a 2008 Graduate
. . . (Not limited to Mountlake Terrace High School)
• Applicant must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA
• Applicant must be attending post-graduation college or technical training
• Applicant must be involved in local community service

Process:
• Complete the Scholarship Application Form
• Submit up to 500 word essay on post graduation plans
• Submit one letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach, employer, minister, scout leader, or activity advisor.
• Submit one letter of recommendation from supervisor or advisor of your community service activity.
• Submit completed application and materials to:

• All materials must be received by the MTHS Alumni Association no later than March 30, 2008
• All applications will be reviewed by the Alumni Association at the April Board Meeting and then will be forwarded to the Scholarship Selection Committee with the Association's recommendations.

Future tax deductible donations can be made payable to the "MTESA Alumni Scholarship Fund". The high school will send out a tax receipt at the first of the year for your files. If your employer is willing to donate matching funds, please let us know how we can help.

FAQ:

We have moved out of the area, what if my child/grandchild does not attend Mountlake Terrace High School?

The Alumni Association is trying to maintain two scholarships. The first if for a student who is currently attending Mountlake Terrace High School and meets the qualification as shown above. The second is for a graduating student of any accredited high school who meets the criteria as shown above. (ie: If a student is graduating from a high school in Orlando, FL, and the parents or grandparents graduated from Mountlake Terrace High School, the student would still be eligible for this scholarship.)
